Stitch of the week:- FLAT STITCH

This is a great filler stitch being like satin stitch it is quite dense.  It is slightly raised and because you overlap the stitches in the middle it give a vein down the centre - great for leaves.  You could make it less dense and open out the stitches into a open fishbone stitch.  I have used it as a filler stitch in my exotic flower petals.
