For the past couple of days I have been without internet access and I thought it would be awful but it meant more time for embroidery.

This weeks stitch is COUCHING:-

It is the perfect stitch for adding texture to your embroidery with different threads, fibres or wire.  You can also outline curvy shapes easier.  You just lay down your thread or fibre and stitch over it to hold it in place.  Here is my example this week:

A fresh new start for my blog in 2010.

Featured weekly stitch:- SPLIT STITCH.

I love doing this stitch but you have to do it in very good light because it is quite difficult to see if you have split the threads evenly.  I usually use this stitch as an outline but also as stems on  flowers (as you can see in this picture).  It is a very delicate stitch and looks like chain stitch.
